Mmm. Candy at the 24th of July Parade!

Drenched by the fire department, hot and having a great time at the 24th Celebraiton! As you can see from the mud puddle behind us, this was not a mere water sprinkling session. We believe in dunking, after all.
Every year the fire department comes to the celebration and sprays water for anyone needing a cool break. The hose reached so far, you could hardly stay out of the way if you tried! 
The crowd enjoying the 'mist' spray from the fire truck. After a few days minus a month (who's counting?) we finally got Cal back for a long weekend. Thursday night until Monday morning! I'm not sure who was more excited, me or the kids. There have been a lot of happy faces around here. :) Everything just seems brighter. Spencer even made a list by himself of things to do with his dad. It read, "Gayms, toc, wash movyz." (Translation- games, talk, watch movies). The boys are having the time of their life following dad around being his little work pal.
This morning we went to our multi-stake 24th of July activity. Apparently, Henderson has a very large LDS population and this had been tradition in the area for years. The favorite part BY FAR was getting squirt by the fire truck water hose. Even at 10am in the morning, that water was a great relief and Cal and the boys got soaked!
