Today we played with a new friend Spener made at church. It was our first play date here. He must have been DYING to get out and be social again, because he refused to leave their house! Even when I tempted him with swimming at the local rec center, he replied stubbornly, "Mom, you know, people are more important than things." How many times have I probably said that to him? Eventually we made it to the rec center, which was a blast. I must be feeling more confident with my directions now, because I left the house WITHOUT a google map tightly in hand! I even found my way home after stopping at Del Taco for Tuesday's 3/$1 taco special. We've declared Tuesdays to be taco day, especially since Spencer will eat 3 of them by himself! Yes, skinny little Spencer.
Swimming is always the perfect way to wear out your kids. The problem is, being 8 months pregnant, I got pretty darn worn out myself! Grant kept telling me to 'let go' when he jumped in to me. I tried to explain that if I let go he would sink to the bottom of the pool. It must not have phased him, because he kept saying, "I WANT to sink! Just let go!" So I did. For about 5 seconds. As predicted, it didn't phase him!
Swimming must be the key to the exhaustion that makes for an easy bedtime. Both boys are staying in bed right now without coming out once! Yeah for swimming!

I agree that swimming is the best. Shea just finished two weeks of swimming lessons at 7-Peaks. He loved, loved, loved it and has NEVER taken such long naps.
We just discovered the pool very recently. I LOVE what it does for them. And how quickly the afternoon passes!!! That picture off to the side of the boys is HILARIOUS!!
