How to find a new pediatrician

Got this great tip from my doctor in UT on how to find a good pediatrician in a new area:

Call the local hospital.
Ask for the nursery.
Request to speak to the head nurse.
Ask her who she sends her kids/grandkids, etc. to or refers patients to.

There you go. How to find a good pediatrician in a new area.

UPDATE (from personal experience):
Ask for 3-4 referrals in the event that:

- the pediatrician has retired
- your insurance doesn't include that doctor
- the doctor is so good, they can't fit you in for several months
