Playing catch up

I'd like to post more than once every few weeks...so here's my attempt to catch up.

We went to UT during Spencer's spring break. Cal did some training with CR England in SL while we stayed with our dear, dear friends the Michaelsons for a few days. They are practically family to us. Calvin grew up with Adam, and I was roommates with Summer after working with her at EFY (she was an EMT).

One night after a date, Cal called me back insisting that Summer and Adam needed to get together. I didn't really know Adam, since he had just barely moved in with Cal, but I was cool with it. Sure enough, Adam took the challenge very seriously and asked her out immediately. They were married a few months after us. We've kind of raised our kids together. We've spent many hours together and as a result our kids are the best of friends. We have 3 boys and they have 4 boys, plus the new addition of a girl. Summer and I hung out any time our husbands were working or at school. We love letting the kids occupy each other while we watch a movie (that gets paused more and more as the years go on), and always make something sweet and tasty. Or we'll do a project together that the other one has been avoiding. You know, something you hate doing by yourself, but need to get done. Like cleaning out a closet, folding laundry, or cutting hair (which we did together on St. Patrick's day). It is so fun having friends where you ALL get along. Husband loves it, I love it, and the kids love it. What's more perfect than that? The best is that I always feel uplifted after hanging out. Life just seems brighter, no matter what ups and downs you are going through. Now isn't that what friends are for?

All the kids wearing green on St. Patrick's Day. (Notice Grant has fingers up BOTH nostrils!)

We made a green dinner for St. Patrick's Day.

Look at all these kids? And boys??

It's not easy being green, huh Dallin!

My boys wearing green.

I snapped this at the Bean Museum. I have lots of pictures of our boys, but we have very few of us! Kindred spirits indeed.

There is just never enough time to visit friends and family in UT. We were able to visit our favorite brood from our old ward, the Bradshaws. I used to watch her munchkins 2x a week while she worked. They are like cousins. No matter how much passes, you reconnect in minutes. The kids have a blast and Meg and I could chat for HOURS. Yes, hours. And thanks Megan for fixing my blog. And teaching me everything you know about everything you know! Your brain is amazing. You are amazing!!!

These photos are from Meg's blog. (thanks!) Our kids got along so well from the start. Who knew? Peas in a pod, those two.

Bethany,
I'm so sorry we weren't able to get together when you were here. It ended up being kind of crazy for us, but it looks like you kept very busy! Thanks for the blog updates-always fun to see the pics and hear the news--especially Calvin's work. Hooray.

I said it on Summer's blog and I'll say it here -- THAT IS A LOT OF TESTOSTERONE!! :) We were so happy to be able to see you when you were here! Isn't it funny how our kids brought us together? I guess sometimes there are blessings to working after all, LOL :)
